Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger, has expressed his emotions and sadness for Arsenal’s surprising loss and knock out from the FA Cup third round after a 2-4 loss to Championship side, Nottingham Forest.
Arsene Wenger said in a post-match press conference:”We were not good in the match, we didn’t attack well, even in the midfield and in the defense, we paid for that, we played against a team that had more desire to win and was more dangerous than us, Nottingham Forest was outstanding, they were dangerous every time they go forward.”
Wenger continued:” We had a difficult schedule and I understand the questions of the 11 players squad that started but that would be an easy excuse. Today we had 8-9 experienced and international players on the pitch, it was a disappointing loss and that hurts me a lot, but on the other hand, we can’t always win the FA Cup. We’ve won the FA Cup three times in the last 4 seasons, which hurts me more because it’s a competition we love and we always play good in. I knew before coming to this match that it would be a difficult game, but the squad was not the only problem today.”
Knowing that this is the first time in Arsene Wenger’s history with Arsenal to get knocked out of the FA Cup third round.
